7/2/2022 Rescue

Multiple agencies worked together to bring a bicyclist to safety today. This morning, SW Polk Fire District responded to an incident where a bicyclist had crashed and fallen down a ravine. Dallas, the Salem Rope Rescue team, and ODF also responded. Agencies had to rely on GPS coordinates for the location, which was on a forest service road. Due to the difficult terrain, the Salem Rope Rescue Team was requested to retrieve the patient. It took excellent teamwork by all agencies to bring the patient out of the ravine in 2.5 hours. The patient was in good spirits once they reached the top.
